FDA, CPSC & PGA Compliance
Customs entry can involve much more than CBP. Express CHB helps importers identify, organize and transmit entry-related information required by applicable Partner Government Agencies.
One Import. Multiple Regulatory Requirements.
Products regulated by FDA, CPSC, USDA and other government agencies may require additional data, registrations, certifications or supporting information as part of the import process.
Express CHB works with importers to identify the entry-related information needed for transmission and to flag missing or inconsistent information that may affect filing or release.
Entry Support for FDA-Regulated Products
FDA Entry Data
- Transmission of applicable FDA entry information
- Review of importer-provided product and manufacturer data
- Identification of missing data needed for entry filing
- Coordination when FDA information must be clarified before transmission
Food & Facility Matters
- Import-related review of facility registration information where applicable
- Product and manufacturer information needed for entry
- Referral to a separately scoped compliance review when labeling or registration analysis is required
- Coordination of supporting information provided by the importer or manufacturer
Product Data Has Become Part of the Entry Workflow.
CPSC eFiling requires importers of applicable regulated consumer products to provide product and certificate-related data in a form that can be transmitted with the customs entry.
Express CHB can transmit importer-provided CPSC data and help organize the entry workflow, including Product ID information and related filing data.
Importer-Provided Data
The importer remains responsible for determining product applicability and for the accuracy and completeness of the regulatory and certification information it provides.
Broker Transmission
Express CHB's role is to transmit the information supplied for the applicable entry and identify data gaps that prevent or complicate transmission.
Product ID Workflow
Where multiple regulated products are involved, the filing can require substantial product-level data preparation and entry into the brokerage system.
Complex Projects
Large product sets, data cleanup or substantive CPSC compliance analysis may require a separately scoped service beyond routine entry filing.
Coordinate the Regulatory Data With the Customs Entry.
USDA-Related Imports
Where merchandise is subject to USDA-related requirements, we can coordinate the applicable entry data and supporting documentation provided for customs filing.
Other PGA Requirements
Depending on the commodity, additional agencies may have jurisdiction. We review the entry information to identify applicable PGA filing needs and coordinate the required data where within our brokerage scope.
Pre-Import Review Can Prevent Last-Minute Problems.
Transmission Is Different From Regulatory Determination.
Routine brokerage generally involves transmitting the regulatory information supplied by the importer for the entry. Determining whether a product complies with substantive FDA, CPSC or other agency rules may require a separate review of labels, testing, certifications, registrations, technical documentation or regulatory requirements.
If the request requires substantive regulatory analysis rather than entry transmission, Express CHB will identify the additional scope and discuss professional fees before proceeding.
Importing an FDA-, CPSC- or PGA-Regulated Product?
Send us the product and shipment information before arrival when possible. We'll determine the appropriate brokerage or compliance scope.
